WORCESTER: Bridget M. (O’Rourke) Lyne, 71, of 28 Vinson St., died in her home on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Her husband of 18 years, Denis J. Lyne, died October 1, 1978.
She leaves her son, Denis J. Lyne, Jr. and his wife Charlene; a brother; a sister; 2 grandchildren, Lori Annis, her husband Dave, and Brittney Lyne; her great grandson Declan; and many nieces and nephews. Four brothers and three sisters all predeceased her. She was born in Kilcummin, County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (O’Connor) O’Rourke. She lived here since moving to the U.S. in 1960.
Bridget worked for more than 40 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Westborough State Hospital and also at Worcester State Hospital until retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury where she volunteered in the parish thrift shop. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her great grandson Declan, caring for her pets, traveling to Cape Cod and visiting Foxwoods.
CALLING HOURS will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. on WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln Street. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on THURSDAY, SEPT. 13 in ST. ANNE’S CHURCH, 130 Boston Turnpike, in Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
