Obituary

Charles T. Estrella, lifetime resident of Fall River passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the age of 85 years old. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. (Fortier) Estrella sharing a lifetime together for fifty years.

Prior to retiring, Charles worked in retail management as a Department Supervisor for Ann and Hope of Dartmouth and Seekonk. His work included opening stores located in Hartford, Connecticut, Cape Cod and was a Merchandise Buyer for the Kerr Mill traveling to trade shows in New York and Chicago.

He was a US Navy veteran of World War II stationed on the Pacific Coast outside of San Francisco, California.

He was a very outgoing person who loved people and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to follow sports, especially football. He enjoyed fishing and golfing with family and friends. His endless love of music and dancing stayed with him throughout his life.

He was a generous person who supported charitable organizations, especially the Catholic Charities Appeal, Salvation Army and the Holy Rosary Church.

Besides his wife, Charles is survived by his children: Charles Thomas Estrella of Fort Myers, FL, Steven Jon Estrella of Santa Monica, CA, the late Tracy Ann Estrella, Jonathan Paul Estrella of Newport, RI, and Jacqueline Estrella of Fall River, MA; his grandchildren: Giselle Monet Dias and Dylan Patrick Estrella; siblings include: the late Pauline Domingos of Phoenix AZ, Elinor Martin of New Bedford and Donald Estrella of Fall River; several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River, MA. The Funeral Mass to follow on Friday, September 14, 2012 in Holy Rosary Church, Beattie Street, Fall River, at 10:00 A.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
