Jasper (Carl) Carlton Ragan, 78, of Clarksville, TN, died on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born on December 28, 1933 in Boone, North Carolina to the late Jasper Greenlee Ragan and Lillie Bumgarner Ragan.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Joan Hubbard and Linda Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with a Masonic service to follow and Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Carl was a pipefitter and millwright for LTV Steel in Ohio. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Korea. He was a member of Hickory Point United Methodist Church. He was well known for his woodworking and quilting talents.
He is survived by his wife, Reatha LaWanda Vaughn Ragan of Clarksville, TN; son, James Carlton Ragan of Goldsboro, NC; daughter, Trina Lorraine Handler of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, April, Shira, Sara, Kaila, and Dena; and two great grandchildren, Nava and Maya.
