Elsie J. (Jackson) Van Loon of Stoneham passed away on Friday, May 28, 2004 at Bear Hill Nursing Home in Stoneham. She was 94 years of age.
Born in Medford, Elsie was the daughter of the late Walter Jackson and Eliza (Percy) Jackson. Elsie was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all.
Elsie was a dedicated homemaker for many years. Her family was first and foremost in her life. She was a talented artist. Elsie was a member at Bear Hill Golf Club since 1955 where she enjoyed bowling and golfing with her husband.
Elsie was the beloved wife of the late William J. Van Loon. She was the devoted mother of William Van Loon and his wife Patricia of Stoneham. Elsie was the cherished grandmother of William Van Loon Jr. and his wife Karen, Linda Tierney and her husband Martin, all of Reading, Susan Rolli and her husband Michael, James Van Loon, all of Stoneham. She was the loving great grandmother of 5 and the dear sister of the late Walter Jackson and James Jackson.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend one hour of visitation on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 11am. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Elsie to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
