Mrs. Barbara Ann (Fitzpatrick) Fitzgerald, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, September 7, 2012. She was 84 years old.
Born in Medford on July 2, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Madeline (Meade) Fitzpatrick. Barbara was a communicant of St Francis of Assisi Church in Medford. She graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Malden, married the late Francis I. Fitzgerald and went on to have four precious children whom she loved dearly and devoted her life to. She had a wonderful circle of friends” The Girl’s Club” and was always there when anyone needed her.
She will be very sorely missed by loving daughter; Barbara A. and her husband John Colangeli of Andover and Mark and his wife Denise Fitzgerald of Andover, sister; Claire Snow of Texas and the late June Kiely of Winchester, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the loving mother of the late Edward Fitzgerald, his wife Linda of Andover and Lowell, and the late Ann Fitzgerald of Medford.
Her funeral was held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 8 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held on Monday, September 10, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
