Dorathea Fraser, 78

Dorathea (Munoz) Fraser, 78, of Norton, passed away in the presence of her loving family, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Fraser, Sr., to whom she was wed on April 1, 1954 and who died on March 24, 2006.
Born in Fairbury, Nebraska on February 6, 1934, she was a dear daughter of the late Valentine and Alberta (Reese) Munoz.
She grew up and was educated in Nebraska and for the past 54 years had made her home in Norton.
Mrs. Fraser was a dedicated homemaker to her loving family, and when younger, while living in Nebraska, had worked for a photography studio taking pictures for newspapers and special events.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, Dorathea was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She, along with her late husband enjoyed watching the games together. She was also talented in scrap booking of which several of her albums pertained to sports.
Dorathea’s other hobbies included painting, sketching and reading. She also enjoyed collecting angel memorabilia and music boxes, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her devoted children, Josephine Derby and her husband Richard of Attleboro, Theresa L. Fraser of Florida, Francis J. Fraser, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Wisconsin and Jonathan J. Fraser of Norton. The cherished grandmother of Michael Derby, Elisha Derby, Matthew Derby, Nathaniel Fraser, Jessica Fraser Benjamin Fraser and great grandmother of Dakota Fraser, she is also survived by her sister Toni, many nieces and nephews, and was pre-deceased by nine siblings.
Her Funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, September 12th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 11th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorathea’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
