Mr. George E. Jacobs, beloved husband of Frances A. (Mitsch) Jacobs, died at the Academy Manor Nursing Center in Andover surrounded by his family on Thursday evening, September 6, 2012. He was 86 years old.
Born in the Bronx, New York, on November 11, 1925, he was the beloved son of the late Israel and Sarah (Hershkowitz) Jacobs. George served in the US Air Force. Mr. Jacobs was employed by Lockheed Martin Company as a Structural Test Engineer and for more than 35 years was honored as a leader in the aerospace industry". In his spare time, Mr. Jacobs enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada. He also enjoyed his huge collection of movies,especially love stories.
Besides his beloved wife, Frances, whom he married on August 9, 1969, George will be very sorely missed by his loving daughter; Suzanne M. Clark of Lawrence, step children; Cathy E. Navas of Tuscon, Arizona, Michael E. and his wife Ann Nolan of Ipswich, Paula E. Geraci of Worcester, Barbara E. and her husband Larry Watson of Deland, Florida and Peter E. Nolan of Florida, grandchildren; Lisa and her husband Geon Lee of Andover, Jennifer Howard and her fiance Rob Fitzgerald of North Andover, Stephanie and her husband Carlos Machado of Bradford, great grandchildren; Caitlin, Andrew, Katherine, Alex and Jackson, brother; Paul Jacobs and his wife Barbara Logen of California, nine step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
