Margaret Hiett Ackley, 87, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born on December 10, 1924 in Clarksville, TN to the late Howard John Hiett, Sr. and Irene Bryant Hiett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. George Edward Ackley, Jr. and brother, Howard John Hiett, Jr.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Dave Handley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. and Monday, September 10, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Margaret was a retired school teacher with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her daughter, Charene (Larry) Watson of Clarksville, TN; two grandchildren, George Watson and Mandy (Jason) Greene; and five great grandchildren, Abby Watson, Gage Watson, Wade Greene, Wiley Greene, and Georgia Greene.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Patterson, Jamie Corlew, Bill Sites, Randy Frost, Joe Stephens, Steve Atkins, Phil Harpel, Bill Harpel, and Charlie Keene.
