TAUNTON – Antonio P. Reis, husband of Emilia A. (Moreira) Reis, to whom he was married for 49 years, died at the Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Sept. 7, 2012.
He was 74.
Born, raised and educated in Sta. Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Ermelinda (Paiva) Reis.
He came to the Taunton area in 1968.
Employed by the Morton Hospital & Medical Center for over ten years, he retired in 2003.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mr. Reis loved volunteering for the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Anthony Church and his community, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Emilia, he leaves two sons, Jose M. Reis of Texas and Antonio M. Reis of Alaska; two daughters, Maria J. Reis of Bridgewater and Sandy M. Reis of Riverside, RI; two brothers, Emanuel Moreira of Taunton and Antonio Moreira of Raynham; one sister, Maria Resendes of Boston; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Sept. 11th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 10th from 4 to 7 p.m.
