WORCESTER-Joan V. (Sledziewski) Thrower, 66, of 504 Mill Street died Tuesday, May 25th in Memorial Hospital. She leaves her husband of 47 years Robert G. Thrower, 2 daughters Jean M. Thrower of Worcester and Mary C. Thrower-McCarthy wife of Richard J. McCarthy of W. Boylston, 3 sisters Barbara M. Chapulis of Sutton, Lorretta A. Burdulis of Worcester and Lorraine A. Bachand of Cherry Valley and many nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Francis and Vivian (Troio) Sledziewski and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Thrower was a devoted homemaker, “nobody loved her family more”, and previously she worked for Fitz-Henry Cadillac as an office manager for several years. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, loved the beach and she was a Patriots and Red Sox fan.
The funeral is Friday, May 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial is in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, May 27th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. oconnorbrothers.com
