MSgt. Jack Lee Eskew
June 21, 1931 - April 3, 2011

MSgt. Jack Lee Eskew age 79, of Anderson died at St. John's Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born June 21, 1931 in Terre Haute, IN to Merle H. and Beatrice L. (Monninger) Eskew.

He served in the US Air Force from January of 1951 to July of 1971 where he served in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star. He worked for Barton ATC, Inc. and was Chief Controller for the Anderson Airport from Feb. of 1972 to Dec. of 1990.

He loved airplanes from the time he was a little boy. He was a licensed private pilot and flight instructor and was a long time member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
He liked motorcycles.

He had a great sense of humor. He liked to whistle, enjoyed all kinds of music.
He loved his kids and grandkids very much and he was proud of them.

He is survived by his wife, Joan H. Eskew of Anderson whom he married February 15, 1958, son Shayne A. (wife Theresa) Eskew and daughter Cheryl D. Schuyler, 4 grandchildren Jackie Eskew, Brad Eskew, Adam Schuyler and Ashley Schuyler, sister, Kay Lindley of Greenwood, IN; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded by his parents and his twin sister Beverly.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Kent Stookey of Bethany Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside rites by Honor Guard from Wright Patterson AFB.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until the service at the funeral home.
