Leslie L." Les" King, 65 of Anderson, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at St. John's Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born on June 27, 1945 in Anderson, the son of Ruby (Forrester) and Basil G. King. He was a life long Anderson resident. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1964.
He was employed by Perfecto Tool and Die for 33 years, retiring on Nov. 26, 2008.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, building things, playing guitar and singing.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Wood) King of Anderson whom he married October 2, 1992; 4 Children, Jamie L.(husband Leo) King-Hernandez, Larry Lee Savage Jr (wife Celeste), Phillip Dean Savage (wife Stacy) and Adam J. Savage (wife Kim) all of Anderson; 11 Grandchildren, Brock, Madison, Hayley, Seth, Trevor, Evan, Leo, Selena, Lesana, Marvin, Charles; 2 brothers, William Harvey King and John E. King and a sister Marilyn S. Allen all of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Basil and Ruby King.
Services will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10 AM with Rev. Eddie Purciful officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
