Joseph Dean "Joe" Fritz
December 20, 1928- June 4, 2011

Joseph Dean "Joe" Fritz, 82, of Anderson passed in his sleep on June 4, 2011 of natural causes at his residence.

He was born on December 20, 1928 in Elwood, IN to Lester William and Mildred Theresa (Haas) Fritz.
He served in the Korean War.
He was employed by Delco Remy for over 30 years before retiring on Jan. 1, 1987. He and his wife, Doris, managed the Autumn Winds Apartments for over 5 years before retiring to Nyona Lake in Northern Indiana.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, VFW Post 266, American Legion Post 127, and the Moose Lodge. He was an avid Notre Dame and Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include his special friend, Elizabeth Godfrey; Children, Cindy Johnson, Jody (Steve) Purdy, Brian (Tabitha) Fritz, Ron Fritz, and Tim (Leslie) Fritz; Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Janice (Fred) Beeler and Evelyn Champion; Sister-in-law, Shirley Carpenter and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris Fritz on July 30, 1997; son, William R. Fritz on September 8, 2005; son-in-law, David N. Webb on Aug. 19, 2001; and a sister, Ruth Parkinson.

His funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 9, 2011 at 1:00pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Robert Williams officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Honor Guard Post 266 at the funeral home.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, June 8, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
