Daniel O’Neill, 60 of Medway died September 4 in his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Wendy Lee (DeDoming) O’Neill.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, August 16, 1952 the son of the Rose (Millette) Hooper and her husband Earl Hooper of Medway and son of the late Robert O’Neill. Mr. O’Neill was raised in Medway and had lived in Upton for ten years prior to returning to Medway.
Mr. O’Neill had worked for the ACME Waterproofing Company of Rockland and was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 3 and a previous member of the Laborers Union Local 223. Mr. O’Neill worked construction for over 30 years.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman. He loved deer hunting and fishing with his children. He was the Champion of the Pond Street Ringers. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and his parents he is survived by his children, Daniel O’Neill of Medway, Joseph E. O’Neill of Medway, Katie Rose O’Neill and her fiancé Robert Tonsberg of N. Attleboro, Thomas O’Neill and Timothy O’Neill of Medway.
He is also survived by his siblings, Carol Griffin of Bellingham, Robin Riviera of Attleboro, Stephen O’Neill, David O’Neill and Donna Cassidy all of Medway and John O’Neill of Millis.
He was the brother of the late Robert O’Neill.
He is also survived by his granddaughter Kyleigh Rose and a large extended family.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 8 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber St. Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph church at 10:00.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8.
