Lois Virginia Latta Tucker, age 88, of Anderson, Indiana, left to be with her Lord and Savior on September 6, 2011, after a brief illness. For the past three years, she was a resident of Keystone Woods Assisted Living Center. Lois was born on July 30, 1923 in Belshaw, Indiana, the youngest daughter of the late John D. Latta and the late Angabelle Williams Latta. Lois graduated from Ambia High School in 1941. She married Robert “Lee” Tucker in New Castle, Indiana in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1981 after 37 years of marriage. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Lois worked at Delco Remy until the birth of her daughter in 1957. Later, she worked at Community Hospital, Anderson, retiring in 1987 after 20 years as Ward Secretary on 2 South. After her retirement, she held a number of part-time positions with various employers, including Community Care Center, Hopewell Center, H & R Block, and, most recently, Rangeline Community Center until 2005. She was active in her community, volunteering as a Pink Lady with Pastoral Care Services at Community Hospital, an election worker, and an usher and office assistant at her church. Lois was a member of the South Meridian Church of God, Anderson, where she had been an active member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and Women of the Church of God. She was an avid Anderson Indians fan. She continued to attend the “What’s Trump?” Euchre Club, which has met monthly for over 30 years. Lois loved being with people and her warm smile will be missed by those who loved her.

Surviving Lois are her loving daughter and son-in-law, Cindy L. Tucker and Edward J. Graesser, of Williamstown, NJ; her cherished grandson, Matthew Joseph Graesser; three nieces, Bonnie M. Clark, and Connie F. Clark Scroggins, both of Lowell, Indiana, and Margie Saum Patterson, of Morocco, Indiana, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Latta, and two sisters, Gladys Latta Saum, and Elnora Latta Clark. She leaves many close friends.
