Earl Franklin Wagner

Earl Franklin Wagner, 78 of Alexandria passed away on October 30, 2011 at Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Earl graduated from Anderson High School in 1951. He began working at Delco Remy while in high school and retired in 1987, after 36 years of employment, mainly as a tool engineer/tool designer. He married Sandra Sue Weston on June 29, 1957.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Earl is survived by his three daughters Mary Baker-Evans of Alexandria, Elizabeth Wagner of Anderson and Nancy Reed of Mooresville; his four granddaughters Erika Higginson of Milwaukee, Oregon, Kristen and Kimberly Reed of Mooresville and Makala Wagner of Anderson. Other survivors include brother and sister-in-law Carl and Charlsia Wagner, sister-in-law Gail Wagner, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Brenda and Tony Swinford, mother-in-law Margie Weston, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. His special canine friends are Jake, Niki, and Mady.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Ortle and Hazel (Dollar) Wagner, brothers Paul and David Wagner sons-in-law Chuck Evans and Scott Reed, and father-in-law Lucien Weston.
Earl was a member of the Anderson Church of the Brethren, where he loved to sing bass in the choir. He enjoyed fishing, singing, gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Earl's family wishes to thank the staff of Community Hospital ICU and the Community Hospital inpatient hospice program.
Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 4, at 2:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Robin Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Walk Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Anderson Church of the Brethren or the Madison County Humane Society.
