Doyle T. Wright

Doyle T. Wright, 93 of Anderson died at his residence on December 3, 2011.
He was born April 2, 1918 in Sidney, Ohio to Homer M. & Olsa L. (Thompson) Wright.
He served in the US Army during WW II.
He retired from the Anderson Police Department in 1972 as Chief of Police. He was a member of the board of Region Four Criminal Justice Planning Agency and a past board member of the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Agency where he served as chairman of the Standards and Curriculum Committee. He served as a member of Anderson Board of Public Safety and Chairman of the Board of Works for the City of Anderson.
During his 25 years with the Anderson Police Department, Doyle attended many police and law related schools and seminars.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post No 127, Past member of the Elks Lodge No 209; Noon Kiwanis Club; Fellowship Masonic Lodge; Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Temple; Madison County Shrine Club and past president of the Fraternal Order of Police No. 48.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (John) Roberts and Judi (Bill) McKeand; grandchildren: Nicole Scott, Kristin Pate, Todd (Cara) Armstrong and Lori Strauss; great grandchildren: Jared Scott, Trae Armstrong, Jaxon Armstrong, Haylie Armstrong, Alexa (Charles) Bischoff, Kylie Sowder, Mackenzi Strauss; great great grandchild Payten Armstrong and sister, Madelyn France
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary (Kilgore) Wright, his brother Wallace Wright and his sister Mildred Ronan.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, December 7 from 4-7:30 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Private Family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Humane Society.
