Andrea Bonaventura, a long-time Medford resident died Sunday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was 71.
Mr. Bonaventura was born and raised in Italy, the son of the late Crescenzo and the late Anna (DelMonaco) Bonaventura. Andrea came to the United States as a youg man and settled, first, in the North End before coming to Medford 32 years ago. He worked in packaging for Boston Sausage and Hub folding box Co.Andrea enjoyed keeping his garden and making a special effort in caring for his car. He is also fondly remembered for his great talent for playing the accordion
He was the beloved husband of Giuseppina (Almonte). He was a devoted father of Sonia Moscaritolo and her husband Fred of N. Reading, Antonio Bonaventura and his wife Lorena of Burlington. He was a loving nonno to Nicholas, Michael, Giana, Andrew, Mikayla and a dear brother to Silvana, Angelo, Aldo, Enio and the late Fernando Bonaventura.
Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday from 4 - 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Thursday at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
