Ida Luella (Bruner) Riggins
January 5, 1925 to December 8, 2011

Ida Luella (Bruner) Riggins, age 86 of Anderson died at St. John's Hospital on Thursday, December 8, 2011 after a brief illness.

She was born in Anderson on January 5, 1925 to Homer and Josephine (Surpas) Bruner, and was a lifetime resident of Anderson.

She worked in the family business Vern Riggins, Inc., for many years.

She was a member of Whetstone Christian Church; American Legion Auxiliary for 50 years; Ladies Shrine Club; Widow Elks; Edgewood Golf Club; past member of 8 & 40; and LaFemmes and Mason Widows. She volunteered as a Pink Lady for many years. She was an avid golfer and bowler and was a member of American Women Bowling Association.

She is survived by her daughter Casandra (Craig) Maupin Plummer; 2 sons Clifford "Butch" (Donna Estle) Riggins and Terry L. (Shirley Watson) Riggins all of Anderson; 16 grandchildren, David J.(Sherri) Maupin of Anderson, John K. Riggins of Kettering, OH, Connie L. (Mike) Herndon of Anderson, Jeff D. (Gina) Riggins of Indianapolis, Stacy L. (Kevin) Lee of Indianapolis, Jennifer L. (David) Myric of Frankton, Amanda K. (Rick) Sigler of Alexandria, Tara Riggins (Scott) Shoemaker of Virginia Beach, VA, Shandon "TJ" Riggins of Chesapeake, VA, Steven J. (Lisa) Imel of Carmel, Scott J. (Heather) Imel of Anderson, Robert Prestwood of Crofton, Maryland , Sherry L. (John) Miskimeno of Channahon, IL, Regina A. Parker of Crofton, Maryland, Shannon G. (Kevin) Baker of Alexandria. Many Great Grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. 2 sisters in law: Joy Riggins and Peggy Riggins, 2 Brothers in law and sisters in law: Keith and Carolyn Maupin of Anderson, and Jim and Nila Bruce of Goodletsville, TN; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Jim & Geri Casey; Barbara Given; and special companions Kellie and Patches

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVern "Vern" H. Riggins June 7, 2001, her son Gary Eugene Riggins in 1983 and her son-in-law William Maupin in 1989, and Grandson, Robert H. Riggins in 1984.

Services will be on Tuesday, December 13 at 1:30 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Gettinger of Whetstone Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

The visitation will be on Monday, December 12 from 4-8 at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Whetstone Christian Church; Pink Ladies at Community Hospital; or the charity of the donor's choice.
