Obituary

Richard M. “Dick” Hallahan, 81, of Worcester, died Friday, August 31st in UMass-Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his brother, William B. Hallahan of Worcester; two sisters, Anne M. Stepanauskas of Shrewsbury and Elizabeth J. Hallahan of Worcester; his nephew and niece, Wayne P. Stepanauskas and Linda A. Johnson.
He was born in Worcester the son of Michael and Nora (Maroney) Hallahan; and was a graduate of Worcester Junior College and Becker College. Dick had been employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 42 years as a Bank Examiner, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish and served as a lecturer; a 4th Degree Knight with the Bishop O’Reilly Assembly, Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association. Richard enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland and the Holy Land and was an avid gardener.
His funeral is Wednesday, September 5th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
