Derek Allen Frank, 21, of Anderson, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 31, 2012, in Anderson. He was born on February 12, 1991 in Anderson, the son of Gary Allen and Catherine (Chase) Frank. He attended Highland High School and had been employed by Burger King for the past several months. He was a devoted father who loved spending time with his daughter and nephew. He enjoyed poker, video games and reading, fishing and bicycle riding.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine (Chase ) Frank of Anderson, his daughter, Makenzie Lee Gay and her mother, Amanda Gay of Alexandria, a sister, Amber Nicole Frank and fiance, Roger Kemp of Anderson and their son, Tristan Allen Kemp. Grandmothers, Linda Frank and Evelyn P. Chase both of Anderson. Aunts and Uncles: Bryan (Liz) Frank, Brenda Pryor, Carol (Gary) Lennis, Debbie (Tim) Chambers and Cousins, Jon Lennis, Shannon Miller, Jacob (Holly) Miller, Brad (Julie) McCord, and Tiffany Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Allen Frank, and his grandfathers, Edward Frank and Richard Lee Chase.
Services will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson officiated by Rev. Eddie Purciful. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4-8 PM.
