Obituary

Barbara F. (Mastera) Jussaume, 86, of E. Freetown, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Lucien B. Jussaume.
Born in Freetown, daughter of the late Joseph H. and Sarah (Matthews) Mastera, she was a lifelong resident of E. Freetown. Prior to her retirement, she worked for John J. Paulding in New Bedford as an assembly worker for twenty-six years and later went on to work in the cafeteria at Apponequet Regional High School. Mrs. Jussaume had served as an officer on the negotiating committee for the United Auto Workers Union. She was a communicant of St. John Neumann Church in E. Freetown, enjoyed playing poker and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Mrs. Jussaume also enjoyed visiting and socializing with her friends at Capeway Adult Day Care in New Bedford.
Survivors include: her daughter: Sarah A. “Sally” Chace of E. Freetown; 2 step-brothers: Dennis L. DeMoranville and Marcus E. DeMoranville, both of E. Freetown; 1 step sister: Fay DeMoranville of Fairhaven; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jussaume was the mother of the late Lucien B. Jussaume, Jr. and step-sister of the late Helen Pittsley.
