Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Kessler III of Sharon, MA passed away peacefully at home in Sharon, MA on August 16, 2012.

Joe was born on March 4, 1946, in Norwood, Ma, the only son of the late Joseph Kessler Jr. and Laura (Cormier) Kessler, who survives him.
He leaves his spouse, Carole Ahearn Kessler.
Joe is survived by his children, Vicki Sullivan of Chesapeake, VA, Patricia Murphy (Lucas) of North Eastern, MA, Joseph Kessler IV(Renee), and Mark Kessler (fiancé Lin Haley) of Canton, MA.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Kessler. Also survived by him are his two step daughters Tracey Drummond and Debbie Freshman.
He has eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild and eleven nieces and nephews. Joe's sisters include Joan (Brian) Cowan of Brewster, MA; Rainy (Rob) Knauber and Janet (Peter) Dawson, both of Canton, MA; and Diane (Rudy) Nelson, of Duxbury, MA. He was predeceased by his sister, Karen (Steve) Miller of Canton, MA.

Joe graduated from Canton High School in 1965. After serving in the United States Army, he took his place at the family business: Kessler Machine Works, on Neponset Street in Canton, which was founded by his
grandfather, Joseph Kessler Sr. in the 1930's. The business has continued to pass from generation to generation, father to son, and is now owned by Joe's son, Joseph Kessler IV. Joe was also on the member of the Canton
Historic Society and The Sharon Historic Society.
His hobbies include camping, gardening, music, and poetry. He was passionate about antique engines and would travel around the country acquiring interesting pieces for his collection.
A Memorial Service will be in Knollwood Memorial Park 321 on High Street in Canton, MA. on September 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
The family requests that memorial donations in Joe's memory be made to National Cancer Society.
