Jack Markle Armstrong
November 25, 1935 to February 8, 2012

Jack Markle Armstrong, age 76, of Anderson passed away at home surrounded by his family on February 8, 2012 after a courageous and brief battle with cancer.

Jack was born and resided his entire life in Anderson, IN on November 25, 1935 to Leroy E. and Charity L. (Markle) Armstrong.

He graduated from Anderson High School in 1954 and attended Anderson College.
He served in the US Marine Corps as a Private First Class from 1954 to 1958 and the US Army from 1961 to 1964 as a Sgt.

He was a produce manager at Marsh Supermarket for 33 years before retiring on December 1, 1997.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed his room full of music, radios and photos. He was a devoted husband and great family man. He loved spending time with his family and listening to music. Each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed hearing his various stories and jokes.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years Faye (Hawkins) Armstrong whom he married May 6, 1958 in Anderson; his daughters: Terri (Jim) Fordham of Anderson; Sandy(Tom) Fox of Columbus, IN; Sue (Doug) Clouse of Greentown, IN; Paula (Mitch) Carroll of Alexandria, and his son Bill (April) Armstrong of Anderson; grandchildren: Chris Hensley ; Jamie Hensley and Taylor Fordham all of Anderson; Brooke Braun of Fishers, IN; Shawn Fox of Newport, KY; Lindsey (Zach) Hahn of Greenwood; Ashley (Matt) Goodpaster and Kyleigh Clouse both of Indianapolis; Chase Carroll of Fort Wayne; Chelsea Carroll and Chandler Carroll both of Alexandria; Kelsey (Jacob) Harrison and Dillon Armstrong both of Anderson; step grandson Zach Spaulding of Anderson and step granddaughter Alex Spaulding of Alexandria; great grandchildren Dylain Hensley of Anderson; Beau Braun and Tommy Braun both of Westfield; Braden Goodpaster of Indianapolis; Blakelee Carroll and step great grandson Jackson Spaulding both of Alexandria and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Don Armstrong.

Services will be on Monday at 2:30 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Kent Stookey officiating. Burial in East Maplewood Cemetery.

The visitation will be on Monday from 12:30 until the service.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
