Dorothy Evelyn (Couch) Keys, 86, of Chesterfield, died at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born August 25, 1925 in Anderson to Roy and Rosa Jane (Holtsclaw) Couch.
She was a graduate of Anderson High School Class of 1943 and received her bachelor of science from Ball State in 1962 and Masters degree in 1967.
She was an elementary school teacher at Chesterfield Elementary School for 23 years.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star # 154 for more than 50 years. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her husband, William P. Keys, Sr. of Chesterfield whom she married August 30, 1946 in Anderson; 3 children: William P. (Cathy) Keys, Jr. of West Lafayette; Nancy Jane (Richard) Corwin of Anderson; Joyce Elaine (Clyde) Dame of LaFontaine, IN; 5 grandchildren William P.(Kelly) Keys, III; Stephen Mitchell (Brooke) Keys; Darcy Allen, Dustin (Jody) Allen; Jennifer Lyn Corwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Cynthia Marie Corwin; her sister and 5 brothers.
Graveside burial of cremated remains will take place at Bronnenberg Cemetery on Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brad Storm officiating.
