Cynthia L. "Cindy" (Stidham) Welch, age 61 of Anderson, died Friday, April 20 at St. John's Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Cynthia was born December 26, 1950 in Anderson to Joseph Warren and Jeannine (Hancock) Stidham.
She graduated from Madison Heights High School, bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from DePauw University and earned a masters degree from Ball State University.
She was an elementary school teacher for Anderson Community Schools for 33 years.
She was a member of Central Christian Church, Tri Kappa Sorority, Anderson Country Club and a 30 year member of D.A. R. She enjoyed fishing and knitting. She attended Camp Miniwanca in Shelby, Michigan as a student, teacher and camp leader for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Tom J. Welch of Anderson; daughter, Adrienne (Dr. Steve) Mensack of Boca Raton, FL; her brother, Denny (Kristine) Stidham of Northbrook, IL; 5 grandchildren; 6 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Cory Welch.
A memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 27 at Central Christian Church with Rev. Rick Vale officiating. The family will greet friends after the service at a luncheon provided by the church.
