Deloras E. "Dolly" (Stumpf) Friend, 75 , resident of Anderson, passed on to her Heavenly Father peacefully on April 27, 2012 at University Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 6, 1936 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin the daughter of Edna (McFarlane) and Harry Stumpf Sr. She was a graduate of Anderson High School in 1954. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was employed in Food Service at Eastside Jr. High School for 14 years, enjoyed traveling, spending time with family , wintering in Florida, and doing crafts. She was a member of South Meridian Church of God, where she was baptized as a child.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Oakley K. Friend, whom she married on February 12, 1954. Her three children: Sharon (Randy) Smith of Winchester, Tenn, Debbie (Tim) Alford of Anderson, and Steve Friend of Greenfield. 3 Grandchildren: Jennifer (Nick) Richards, Ashley (Scott) Dietrick, and Michael (Kristen) Alford. 3 Great Grandchildren: Timothy Dietrick, Kathryn Dietrick, and Preston Richards. 2 Brothers: Edward (Nadine) Stumpf and Harry "Butch" (Terra) Stumpf Jr. all of Anderson and several nieces and nephews
Preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Harry Stumpf Sr.
Services will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11 AM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service , with Rob Mifflin officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 1st from 4-7 PM at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday.
