Elizabeth C. (Eads) Lennis
April 29, 1914- June 2, 2012

Elizabeth C. (Eads) Lennis, 98, passed away on June 2, 2012 at her residence following a long illness.
She was born on April 29, 1914, in her grandfather's home on Ohio Avenue, to Lewis F. & Florence G. Rich Eads.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1932.
Elizabeth married A. Eugene Lennis, in December 23, 1933.

She was instrumental in the chartering of the Pendleton AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary during 1983 and served as its charter Secretary for several years and President for one year. Elizabeth was Secretary for 7 years (1987-1993) for the Department of Indiana Amvets Auxiliary. She was employed by Anderson Optical as bookkeeper, stock clerk, & optician from 1957 until 1972 and as optician for two eye doctors 1972 thru 1985.

She has been the alumni secretary for her 1932 high school class since 1981. She owned and operated her own alteration business for several years until her health began to fail in 2000.

She is survived by a son, Dewayne Eugene (Jean) Lennis of Elwood, with whom she resided, daughter-in-law, Bethel Lennis of Anderson, 9 grandchildren, Kelly Newsome of Missouri, Kristin Lennis, April (Donald) Mason, Charles Lennis, Nikki (Scott) Bates, Teri Lennis, David Davis, and Holly Stanley all of Anderson, Timothy (Dixie) Davis of Anderson; 2 step granddaughters, Kelly Gordon and Marie Poor of Frankton, and a special God-granddaughter, Stefanie (Rob) Myers of Mustang, Oklahoma, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and 13 great great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Eads of Anderson, several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Virginia Klett of Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, A. Eugene Lennis, 1962, her parents, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and L. "Dick" Davis, a son, Richard Lennis, Sister, Verna Eads, brother and sister-in-law, Grover "Bud" and Betty Eads, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:00pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
