PENDLETON - William Michael Wheat, 63, of Pendleton, died July 8, 2012 at St. John's Hospital. He was born April 20, 1949 in Anderson, IN. He was the son of William A. Wheat and Mary Hildenbrand. Mike worked as a skilled tradesman/pipe fitter at Ft. Wayne Truck and retired in 2008. He attended Frankton High School and Purdue University.
He married Phyllis Kay Gore, October 20, 1972. He enjoyed reading, working on old cars, and being with his family
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Kay Wheat of Pendleton and their two children Michael Adam Wheat and Devin Kyle Wheat of Pendleton; mother Mary Hildenbrand; sister, Kimberly Ann Wheat. He was preceded in death by his father, William Arthur Wheat; sister, Julie Kay Wisner; and nephew, Christopher Wisner. A private service will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family suggests instead of flowers contributions be made in Mike's memory to the American Cancer Society.
