William (Bill) Wilson
William F. Wilson, 76, from Anderson, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2012. He was born on July 20, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN. Bill was the son of William J. Wilson and Amborzine Wilson, who proceeded him in death.
He married Alice Chalfant on March 8, 1959 in Danville, IN.
Bill grew up in Brownsburg, graduated from Butler University in 1958 and worked as a teacher and coach for 46 years. He had a passion for mentoring and coaching student athletes and he successfully led several sports teams to become one of the all-time winning coaches in Indiana history. He taught and coached at Dover High School, Granville Wells High School, South Side Junior High, and Anderson Highland High School.
Bill was an inspiration to all who knew him and he often wrote about the power of positive thinking and the importance of setting goals, being the best that you can be and helping others. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Alice; one son, Bill Wilson; two daughters, Kim Wilson (fiancé Doyle Stroud) and Michelle (Mike) Marker, and two grandchildren, Bohdan Marker and Eliana Marker.
Viewing will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Rozelle Johnson – 229 South Rangeline Road in Anderson, IN. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Rozelle Johnson. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
