Obituary

WORCESTER: Marjorie E. (Wiinikainen) Walcott, 79, of 52 Country Club Blvd., formerly of St. Nicholas Ave., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus, after becoming ill at home.
Her husband of 45 years, Laurent E. “Larry” Walcott, died August 22, 2006. She leaves her daughter, Carol E. Audette and her husband John Glawson of Framingham; a sister, Emily Hunter of Zephyr Hills, FL; 3 grandchildren, Jason and Kayla Audette, both of Stuart, FL, Jeffrey Audette of Framingham; her uncle Ben and several nieces and nephews. Two daughters and a brother, all predeceased her. She was born and raised in Gardner, daughter of the late George A. and Sigrid (Kauppinen) Wiinikainen. After graduating from high school she moved to Worcester where she lived the rest of her life.
Marge worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital for many years. She last worked at Salisbury Nursing Home until she retired. She was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she once served as Music Secretary, sung in the church choir and assisted with the children’s choir. She enjoyed caring for animals and spending time with her family.
There are no calling hours. After cremation, burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St., is assisting the family with arrangements.
