Obituary

Louise (Boggs) Addington, 90, formerly of Anderson, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana.

Louise was born June 17, 1922 near Farmland, Indiana to Plummer and Hilda (Garringer) Boggs.

Louise grew up on farms in Randolph and Delaware Counties. Louise graduated with a B.S. in Home Economics from Ball State Teachers College in 1944 and taught school in Farmland and Parker township schools. Louise married Vern Addington, on May 26, 1946 at Cowan, Indiana. Louise and Vern lived in Farmland, Twelve Mile, Greenwood and St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Anderson, IN in 1962 where they remained. Louise taught home economics at most of these locations and taught in the Noblesville school system from 1963 until her retirement in 1987. Louise and Vern volunteered at the Paramount Theatre and Louise served as Director of Volunteers for over 24 years up until earlier this year when health issues prevented her continuance. Louise Addington has been named Madison County Volunteer of the Year for her efforts at the Paramount.

Louise is survived by her 3 children; daughter Ann (Dick) Abel of Kokomo, IN and sons David (Dixie) Addington of Houston, TX; Dale (Tammi) Addington of Findlay, OH; five grandchildren, Amy (Carl) Sargent of Kokomo, IN; Stephen Addington of Indianapolis, James (Leslie) Addington of Charlottesville, VA; Ashley (husband Greg Cornelius) Addington of Boston, MA; Carmen (Alan) Sy of Austin, TX; two great grandchildren Logan and Natalie Sargent; brothers Robert (Helen) Boggs of Selma, IN; Philip Boggs of Muncie, IN; sisters-in-law: June Boggs of Muncie; Jean Addington of Winchester, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vern of 59 years; her parents and two brothers Keith and Edwin Boggs.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service at 229 S. Rangeline Road in Anderson, IN. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. William Mathys officiating at the same location. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, East of Farmland, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paramount Heritage Foundation or the Woodlawn Cemetery Board of Trustees.
