Obituary

Abington – Lillian A. (Witt) Healey 64, a longtime resident of Abington, died Tuesday August 28 after a long and brave battle with COPD. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to Francis “Frank” Healey.

Born in Boston and raised in Mattapan she was the daughter of the late George and Doris (Levison) Witt and a graduate of Solum Lundberg High School in Mattapan.

As a resident of Abington for over forty years, Lillian along with her husband had raised their three daughters, and was a longtime communicant of St. Bridget Church. She had also worked for over 20 years as a supervisor for Olsen Machine & Tool Company of Abington.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and shared many gifts with family and friends. She loved to travel and had especially enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods.

In addition to her husband Frank she is survived by her loving daughters Justine Clancy of Abington, Darlene Healey of Middleboro and Frances Healey of Halifax. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Justine Healey of Abington and her sisters Joanne, Carol, Cecilla, Marie and Georgine as well as six grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean and Doreen.

Her services will be held Saturday September 1 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Friday August 31 from 4-8 PM.
