Doris A. (Noel) Quinlan, age 84, of Brockton, died August 25, 2012 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater following a period of failing health. She was the loving wife for 65 years of Lawrence J. Quinlan. A lifelong resident of Brockton, Doris was the daughter of the late Alfred M. and Doris (Beane) Noel. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1946 and the Williams Business School. She had been employed by New England Telephone Company for 30 years and retired from NYNEX. A gregarious, caring and kind person, Doris was very devoted to her family. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, walking the beaches of Cape Cod, shopping, crossword puzzles and making hooked rugs.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Larry J. Quinlan, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Bridgewater, Linda Bassett and her husband Gardner of Raynham, Melanie Cassaro and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater and William E. Quinlan of Brockton. She was the grandmother of Brian and Andrew Bassett, Gregory Quinlan, Matthew Cassaro, and Corey and Ashley Quinlan She is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Rachel Quinlan and sister of the late William and Ernest Quinlan.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home,. 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10am followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
