Obituary

Patricia Ann “Pat“(Stanton) Hohn, 71, a resident of Natick since 1968, passed away on August 25, 2012 at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. She was the beloved wife of Paul C. Hohn with whom she shared 48 years of beautiful marriage.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Della (Lydon) Stanton, Pat was raised in the Mission Hill section of Boston. She attended Mission Grammar School and graduated from Mission High School. Pat went on to study and earn her certificate in Medical Records transcribing. Pat worked for a number of years as a medical transcriber and librarian at Children’s Hospital in Boston. She married Paul in 1964 and together they settled in Natick in 1968. Pat & Paul welcomed their son Christopher and became the quintessential family. Pat was a devoted wife and mother, volunteering her time and talent at the Brown School in the library and lunch room. She was also instrumental as a volunteer at the Hartford St. Presbyterian Church Nursery School. As Christopher grew, Pat became quite involved in the Natick Soccer Club as an assistant coach and also as a den mother in the Cub Scouts. Most important was Pat’s reputation as being the “Neighborhood Mom” opening her heart and home to so many neighborhood children. She was a true example of unconditional love opening her heart and home to anyone she came in contact with. Even at the end of her life Pat showed great concern for others as she chose to donate her 20/20 retina’s to the New England Organ Bank to help those in need. Pat will be remembered for her love of boating, camping, traveling, and cooking.

In addition to her husband and son, Pat is survived by her cherished Yorkie “Pebbles” and 5 siblings, Winifred Bolter of Quincy, Rita Donohue of Squantum, Marian Stanton of Exeter, N.H., Marjorie Maguire of Waltham, and Joan Herne of Bellingham, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Edward Stanton.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Pat’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) Natick on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 8:15 AM to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St. Natick at 9:00 AM.
