Obituary

Rosenstein, Bertha “Bea” (Rudner) 93 of Boston and formerly of Chelsea and Brookline passed away on August 22, 2012. Bea was born in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1936. During WWII, Bea held a civilian position as a welder in the Charlestown Navy Yard. She was also a long time sales associate at Bell Shoppe on Winter Street in Boston. Bea was a member for the Brook House Garden and Grounds Committee and a Resident Activities Committee Member at Providence House in Brighton. Bea enjoyed socializing with both new and old friends and will be remembered for her beautiful extensive hat collection and both her fun loving nature and her feistiness. During her time as a resident of Brook House, Bea spearheaded an initiative to collect toys, stuffed animals and cards during Valentine’s Day for the patients of the Boston Children’s Hospital.

Bertha was the beloved wife of the late George Rosenstein. She was the loving daughter of the late Phillip Rudner and the late Yetta Rudner. Bea was the dear sister of the late Golda (Rudner) Karlin, Frances Sutker and Edward Rudner. She was the loving Aunt of Denise Karlin and her husband Bill Jarosz. She is also survived by many nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Temple Ohabei Shalom, 1187 Beacon St. Brookline on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Peabody. Donations in Bertha’s memory may be made to Hebrew Senior Life, 1200 Centre St. Roslindale, MA 02131 or to Providence House, 180 Corey Rd. Brighton, MA 02135.
