Mr. Ollie Wayne Anderson, age 62, passed away Wednesday, August 22 in Douglas, Georgia following a two-year, well-fought battle with cancer.
Mr. Anderson, a native of Bacon County, Georgia, was born June 24, 1950, the son of the late Alfred Cecil and Quessie Carter Anderson. He was retired director with the Department of Family and Children Services and had been a active member of Alma United Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include: wife of 31 years, Patricia Tanner Anderson of Douglas, Georgia; two children, Amy Anderson Stevens of Cordele, Georgia and Adam Anderson of Alma, Georgia; one brother, Alfred Cecil Anderson, Jr; and four grandchildren who loved their “Papa Wayne.”
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24 at Carver Baptist Church near Douglas, Georgia where Mr. Anderson was a member. Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
