Rose C. Zaccone, a lifelong Charlestown resident, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at her home in Charlestown following an extended illness. She was 90 years old.
Rose was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine (Siracusa) Zaccone. She grew up in Charlestown and attended the Boston Public School system. While working for the United States Government as a secretary, she continued her education at Salem State College in the teaching program. She later recieved her Masters in Business Administration from Boston University and became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1954, Rose recieved her Law Degree fom Boston College and passed the Bar Exam that same year. She specialized in Tax Law and worked for the legal department of John Hancock Insurance Company. She later practiced in the law firm of Herrick & Smith from 1968 to 1986. She later practiced with Condit & Associates in Boston and completed her law career with Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster in Boston.
Rose is the beloved sister of the late Leo Zaccone, Josephine Zaccone and an infant sister Josephine. She is survived by many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Rose on Monday morning, August 27, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
