Obituary

Judea M. Hawkins, 76, of Bedford (formerly of Londonderry), died August 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a tragic automobile accident. She had a full life filled with love and laughter and two daughters, grandchildren, and a son-in-law who adored her.

She was born in Throop, PA on May 16, 1936, the daughter of Felix and Jean (Shingary) Bergeski. She was well known for her sense of humor and was voted “most talkative” in high school.

Judea met her husband, Harold “Hank” Hawkins while working as a waitress in the Poconos. They were married for forty- four years before Hank died August 23, 2003; almost nine years from the day Judea was taken from her family. Prior to his death, Hank and Judy loved to travel the world and take long Sunday drives.

Judea was more than a mother-she was her daughters’ best friend. She instilled a sense of laughter and fun and was the best mom anyone could hope for. Family was the center of Judea’s life. She was an avid gardener, interior decorator, loved to shop, cook, and spend time with her friends. Animals were her passion, especially her dogs Molly and Charley. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and “Gama” to her grandchildren.

Family members include her daughters Cynthia Baldwin and her husband Mark of Londonderry, Monique Hawkins of Arlington, MA; four grandchildren, Chantel (Baldwin) Emery and her husband Jack, Chloe and Sierra Baldwin, and Talin Hawkins; two sister-in-laws, Marge Evans and Patricia Tremblay; nephews, nieces, and her two dogs Emily and Bentley.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in October. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Animal Rescue League, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
