Thompson, Olleo “Lou” age 79 of New Milford and formerly of Jersey City died Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Beloved husband of Virginia (nee) McKenna and his late wife Joan (nee) Barry. Devoted father of Dr. Mary Ann Donohue, Maureen Butler and her husband Phil, Matthew Thompson and his wife Dina. Dear stepfather of Ellen Link and her husband Brian, Daniel Fernandez and his wife Mary, Clare Zachmann, Patricia Halsall and her husband Wayne, Ralph Fernandez, Michael Fernandez and his wife Ann Marie, Virginia Smith and her husband Mike, and David Fernandez and his wife Marci. He was also the loving grandfather of Tara and Thomas Donohue, Greg and Janine Butler, Matthew and Amanda Thompson, as well as his 15 step-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Charles Thompson. Lou was an avid golfer whose outgoing demeanor, quick humor, and warmth was felt by all who met him. He was a 3 time president of Activities Unlimited, a Haworth Men’s Club. He volunteered for the food pantry at Ascension RC Church in New Milford where he also served as an usher and lector. Lou was a member of the New Milford Library Book Club. He worked at the C.F. Mueller Macaroni Company in Jersey City, retiring as a Shipping Supervisor. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. Funeral service Friday 9:30AM at Ascension RC Church New Milford. All are invited to meet at church. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
