Elizabeth A. (O’Neill) Hoehn, 78, of Methuen, died peacefully Friday Night, August 17, 2012 in Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence after a lengthy illness.
Elizabeth, daughter of the late Francis J. and Gertrude (Martin) O’Neill, was born in Lawrence on November 4, 1933 and lived in the local area all of her life. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence class of 1950. Prior to her retirement in 1991, Elizabeth was employed as a Manager at the Lawrence Credit Union and at the Metropolitan Credit Union.
Elizabeth was a proud member of the Lawrence Quota Club and later the Lawrence Rotary Club where she served on its board as Secretary. As a member of the Rotary's Volunteer Reading Program, she shared her love of reading with children at the Hennessey School. Elizabeth's and Oscar's home and garden were the center of many extended family gatherings and celebrations.
She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband, Oscar A. Hoehn; one son, Oscar A. Hoehn, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Sandown, New Hampshire; three daughters, Anne Marie Hoehn and her husband Keith Peterson of Brush Prairie, Washington, Patricia Hoehn and her husband Arthur Burns of Marblehead and Marybeth Hoehn of Newburyport; two sisters, Nancy Donahue of Campton, New Hampshire and Jeanne Parnell of Manchester, New Hampshire, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marguerite Ganley of Salem, New Hampshire and Mary Martin of Lawrence, MA.
