Albert J. “BIG AL” Forrand, 75, of Hanson, passed away on Tuesday August 21st suddenly. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Christie) Forrand. He was son of the late Arthur and Helen (Dolan) Forrand.
Al was born and brought up in Whitman and was a graduate of Whitman High School. He has been a resident of Hanson since 1961 and wintered in Florida
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country from 1956-1958.
Al worked as credit manager for Foot Joy and Etonic’s Shoe Companies for many years.
He is survived by his children, Mark Forrand of New York and Meredith McMahon and her husband Robert of East Bridgewater, his brother David Forrand of Halifax; also his grandchildren, Elise and Brian McMahon, several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late, Russell and Arthur Forrand and Muriel Slocum.
His services will be held on Saturday August 25th at 9:00AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St., (Rte 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, MA., followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM in the St. Joseph the Worker Church, Maquan St., Hanson, MA. Burial will be in the Hanover Center Cemetery, Hanover, MA. Visitation will be held on Friday August 24th from 4:00-7:00.Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Assoc.
