Brian J. Power of Reading passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at his home after succumbing to a very quick battle with cancer. He was 65 years of age.
Born in Cambridge, Brian was the loving son of the late Lehan R. and Gertrude (Hynes) Power. He warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Brian was a kind, caring, generous man with many friends. He was loved by many friends, neighbors and customers. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Brian graduated from Arlington High School and lived in Reading for the past 34 years. He was the co-owner of Reading Square Auto Body.
Brian was the beloved husband of Ann (Malvey) Power. He was the devoted father of Brian J. Power, Jr. and his partner Mohammad of Canada, Rachelle Haney and her husband Sean of Andover, John Power and his wife Lindsay of Reading, David Power of Reading, Michael Power of RI and the late Susan Power. Brian was the cherished grandfather of Patrick, Jacqueline, Matthew, Safia, Sage and Mohammad, Jr. He was the dear brother of Lehan Power, Jr. of Brewster, Edward Power of Reading, Jimmy Power of Arlington, Kevin Power of Byfield and John Power of CA. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Brian’s Eternal Life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
