Joseph A. Faria, Jr., 82, of New Bedford died Tuesday May 18, 2004 at Northeast Specialty Care Center in Stoughton after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Eleanor T. (DeMilt) Faria.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Jose and Maria (Perreira) Faria, he lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey before returning to New Bedford.
Mr. Faria was self-employed in the electronics field for many years.
Mr. Faria was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 in New Bedford. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a sister, Cecelia A. Mello of Plymouth; and a nephew, Paul Mello of Plymouth.
He was the brother of the late John R. Faria, Mary R. Vieira, Georgianna Barboza and Adelaide Gomes.
His Committal Service in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
