Obituary

JUDITH A. WILBUR, 67, died peacefully at her home in Hingham on Aug. 21 after a brief illness. A native of Berlin, NH and the daughter of the late Edward and Anita (Lemieux) Montminy, Judy is survived by her husband of 45 years, David, by her daughter Kristen and her husband Steven Sadowski of Westford, MA, by her daughter Kimberly Wilbur and her fiance Andrew Galligan of Brookline, and by her treasured grandsons Nicholas and Owen Sadowski. She is also survived by her sister Louise Rivard and her husband Gene of Surprise, AZ, by her sister Claire Shean and her husband Bob of Catonsville, MD, by her sister-in-law Marcia Montminy of Rochester, NH, and by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Montminy of Rochester, NH.

A registered nurse who trained at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH, Judy was among the first coronary care nurses in that state, and went on to hold positions at various acute care hospitals including Mary Hitchcock, Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton where she had been head nurse of the recovery room, and North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill where she worked in the emergency department. Before moving to Hingham, Judy resided in Holyoke, MA for 30 years, and worked at several Springfield area long-term facilities where she held assistant director of nursing and other positions.

Judy's family extends their sincere thanks to the compassionate staff of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and the Hospice of the South Shore.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 25th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Friday from 4-7 PM.

Interment in Hingham Cemetery.
