Raymond Beere Johnson, Sr. 88, a Franklin resident for more than 51 years, died peacefully at his home Sunday August 19, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Doris S. (Sweetnam) Johnson, who died in 2000.
Born in Boston, January 14, 1924 a son of the late Edmund S. and Edith E. (Beere) Johnson, Mr. Johnson retired as an administrator with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Unemployment.
He was a former member of the Park Street Church in Boston, and loved geology, photography, collecting, and time spent with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Raymond B. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Franklin, his beloved grandchildren; Jeremy Johnson of Attleboro, Michael Johnson of Aurora, Illinois, Olivia Nakler of Franklin, and his 5 great-grandchildren; Zack, Wesley, Tallulah, Liam & Oona.
He is also the brother of the late Sumner Beere Johnson.
A private graveside funeral service with interment will take place at the family lot in Oakland Cemetery in Medway on Thursday.
