Laurent N. Ouellette, 91, of Sayles Hill Rd., Manville, died Monday at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island in Providence. He was the husband of Annie (Pandolfi) Ouellette. They were married on October 18, 1952.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Joseph Pierre and Albertine (Caron) Ouellette.
He was a resident of Manville for most of his life.
Mr. Ouellette served in the Army during WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Victory medal American Theatre campaign Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon.
He was employed by Nault’s Garage in Manville for many years.
Laurent will be remembered as a loving husband and father and proud grandfather.
In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, he is survived by a son Richard L. Ouellette, and his wife Sandra, and a daughter Joan Brochu, and her husband Richard, all of Manville. He was the brother of Florence Healey of North Smithfield and the late Albert, Raymond, and Roland Ouellette and Helen Benoit. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Daniel Ouellette, USMC (currently stationed in Oklahoma) and Amanda Ouellette of Manville and many nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, Phillip Hulitar Center, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI. 02904.
