
Mary G. (Gilmette) Pina, 77, of New Bedford died Tuesday May 18, 2004 unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of Edward T. Pina; they were married for 54 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joaquim and Virginia (Raymond) Gilmette, she had lived in New Bedford for all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mrs. Pina enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Edward J. Pina, and his fiancée Kimm M. Andrade, of New Bedford, and Donald E. Pina, and his wife Brenda, of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Marilyn T. Pina, and her husband Ronald C. Pina, of Dartmouth, and Jacqueline E. Pina, and her husband Robert A. Pina, of New Bedford; two brothers, Joaquim "Jackie" Gilmette of Falmouth, and Matheus "Puddie" Gilmette of New Bedford; three sisters, Rose Ramos of Leicester, Julia Gracia of Marion, and Anna Monteiro of Brockton; nine grandchildren, Dwayne, Kyle, Jessica, Cheyenne, Donald II, Ivan, Alyssa, Brett and Stephan; a great-granddaughter, Neriah; her sister-in-law, Gloria Fernandes of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Raymond Gilmette, Joseph Gilmette, Virginia Gilmette and Evelyn Monteiro.
