Obituary

FRANKLIN - Calvin Smart Jr., 85, of 30 Duffy Street, died Friday, August 17th. 2012 after a long illness with heart disease. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, left this life to be with his wife Nancy and son Ronny, whom preceded him.

Calvin was a avid hunter and fisherman, he always said, only kill what you can eat. He liked to restore antiques and old clocks. He played several instruments and taught his sons to play. Calvin held patents on some inventions that he created. In 1943 he joined the U.S. Navy . While on his ship, a P. T. class ship, it was hit by a torpedo, putting him in the naval hospital, where he received the Purple Heart. He was loved and liked by all who knew him. He will be missed.

He is survived by three sons;. Carl Smart and wife Karen and Dana Smart and wife Barbara of Concord, Ricky Smart of Northfield, two daughters; Bonny Lake and husband David of Milton and Nancy Ann Smart of Tilton N.H.

There will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen. A remembrance of life will be at his son’s house at 475 Clinton St. Concord after the service.
