Robert P. Melley of Reading, formerly of Charlestown passed away on Monday, May 17, 2004 at Winchester Hospital in Winchester.
Born in Chelsea, Robert was a longtime resident of Reading. Robert was a loving and caring son, husband, brother, cousin and friend. He will be missed by all.
Robert was a dedicated accountant for P.S. Thorsen Corporation for many years. During World War II, Robert proudly served our country in the Pacific Ocean in the United States Navy.
Robert was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Johnson) Melley. He was the dear brother of the late George Melley. Robert was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws in Florida and Pennsylvania.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Thursday 3-7pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
